Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the cultural dimensions of tourism, analysing their significance and impact on the industry and local communities;

  2. Synthesise cultural and historical knowledge to craft engaging interpretive narratives and authentic tourism experiences;
    融汇文化与历史知识，策划富有感染力的诠释性内容，打造真实的旅游体验；
  3. Elucidate the fundamental principles underlying immersive, interactive and intelligent technologies, and critically evaluate their applications in deepening cultural experiences globally;
    阐释沉浸式、交互式及智慧科技的核心原理，并对其在全球层面上深化文化体验的应用作出批判性评估；
  4. Apply appropriate software and equipment related to smart technologies to develop cultural tourism products; and
    选用合适的智慧科技相关软件及设备，以开发文化旅游产品；及
  5. Use project management skills to orchestrate technologically-enriched and sustainable cultural tourism initiatives with community stakeholders for business and cultural sectors within the smart city ecosystem.
    运用项目管理及创业技能，于智慧城市生态系统中与社区持份者筹划及执行结合创新科技的且具备可持续性的文化旅游项目，服务商业及文化产业。

Applicants are required to meet the University’s General Entrance Requirements for postgraduate programmes. For admission to the MSSc-SCT programme, applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in arts and social sciences, heritage studies, tourism, management, media and communication or other related areas from an institution recognised by the University. Relevant internship or work experience would be an advantage.

申请人须符合大学研究生课程的一般入学要求。报读 MSSc-SCT 课程的申请人，应持有获本校认可的院校颁发的学士学位，专业背景包括但不限于：艺术与社会科学、遗产研究、旅游学、管理学、媒体与传播或其他相关领域。拥有相关实习或工作经验者优先。

English Proficiency Requirement (exclusively for the English stream)

Fluency in English, in both oral and written forms, is required of all applicants. Applicants with degrees from an institution where the medium of instruction is English will be assumed to have met this requirement.

 

Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is not English should also fulfil the following minimum English proficiency requirement.

 

  • Overall score 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic), with no subtest score lower than 5.5; or
  • Score 550 (Paper-based test) or 80 (Internet-based test) in TOEFL; or
  • CET6 450; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications.

 *IELTS and TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the test date.

所有申请中文组别的申请人必须证明其具备中文（普通话）能力。申请人需满足以下任一要求：

  • 已获得以普通话为教学语言的学士或以上学位；或
